White supremacy does not police our bodies
Join the TWCC on Friday July 10th for the next event in our Coffee & Conversation series:
My Body
My Liberation
A discussion surrounding fat liberation, body positivity and telling white supremacy to FFFFFFFFF off.
We’ll be joined by two phenomenal advocates in this area:
Tasheon Chillous, personal trainer at Ascent Fit in Tacoma, WA and creator of the BOPOMO, a body positive movement class. Did we mention she was featured in Shape magazine for her efforts in this area, and that “f*ck diet culture,” is the realness she’ll never stop bringing?
Kanoelani Patterson is a BADASS Black womxn powerlifter, fat athlete, social worker and activist who is here to let you know fatphobia WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, and the systems of oppression that perpetuate this ideology WILL BE DISMANTLED.
WHO IS READY TO GET IN ON THIS DISCUSSION?!

A SPECIAL JUNETEENTH 2020 INVITATION: RE-IMAGINING LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
We are proud of the personal and collective progress of the Future Sevens over the years, but recognize there is still significant work to be done in advancing equity and justice for African American women in leadership. Note: Police brutality is not the only form of oppression; many African American men and women suffer silently through daily micro-aggressions, implicit and explicit bias, marginalization, and social isolation in high places. Even in June 2020, many appear to be elevated, but are not truly free.
This year, on June 27 and June 28, 2020 from 12-3 pm, The Future Sevens Club will support Cynthia Tucker and the Tacoma CWC Executive Committee with its virtual and live presentation of: Juneteenth 2020: "Re-imagining Liberty and Justice for All." The Club House address is 2316 South Yakima Ave., Tacoma, WA, 98445.
The event is co-hosted and co-planned in partnership with the Tacoma Women of Color Collective.
A special thanks to Tacoma Creates and their continued support.
